Part of Parkway in Chelmsford city centre is closed this evening following a crash.A BMW has collided with a lamp post on the roundabout close to the multi-storey car park.Paramedics, police officers and firefighters are at the scene.It is not known how badly hurt the driver of the car is at this stage.More to follow.

A man has been arrested over the daylight mugging of an elderly woman in Chelmsford. Yesterday at around midday, a man grabbed cash from the woman in Melbourne Avenue and ran off towards St Nazaire Road. A police helicopter was deployed after the incident and was seen hovering over the Melbourne area of the city looking for a male suspect. Essex Police also conducted a search of the area on the ground. And today police arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of robbery following the incident...
